Pretend Porteños

Monday, looking for a respite from the city life we’ve grown so accustomed to, we took off to Tigre for the day. In a nutshell, it’s the Annapolis of B.A. We took a cab to a train station north of our part of town, boarded El Tren de la Costa and chugged along through the city’s northern suburbs. Once in Tigre, we were dropped off at a casino and amusement park. Thankfully, we had exited the train on the wrong side so we crossed over and found the quaint town of Tigre and the station where the water taxis dock up. We were in the delta of the Rio de la Plata, and in a Venice-esque way, dozens of islands making up Tigre are only reachable by water taxi. It seemed to be a very popular summer house spot. A delish pasta lunch was had on the veranda of a river-side resto before we headed back to B.A. for the evening.
